Skie is a green-tech startup with a focus on developing energy generating shades – ‘solar curtains’, for increasing buildings’ self-sufficiency by producing renewable energy via windows in buildings.
Problems we are solving
We aim to address the issues of inefficient utilisation and inaccessibility of building surfaces for energy production. Solar curtains offer largely glazed buildings, an opportunity to utilise solar energy by activating already-in-place windows and new-builds. Investing in conventional solar panels often require large surface area for shorter ROI, while skyscrapers often lack sufficient roof spaces for installing conventional solar panels, hence solar curtains could be an alternative solution for energy production. Additionally, installing solar curtains instead of replacing window glasses would avoid complex renovation process and hence save time and carbon emissions. In countries near the equator, approximately 30% of energy consumption in glazed buildings is spent on cooling, therefore our solution would maximise the full potential of building’s surfaces by combining shading with energy production.

What we’re focusing on now
As we’ve established dialogues with potential pilot customers and obtained serval LOIs, our current focus is to obtain funding for expanding the team, accelerating product development and verifying the technology.
We’re always open for feedback, ideas and inspirations, and are constantly looking for partners, pilot customers and investors, please feel free to get in touch!
